Who are FSU's "Silent Commits"?

There was a wave of excitement among Florida State fans everywhere when FSU commit and #1 cornerback, Levonta Taylor, tweeted this out yesterday:

Given the recent struggles on the recruiting trail for the Noles, ex. Isaac Nuata's decommitment, this got every fan all kinds of excited. I was definitely thrilled to see this tweet, but I trust Jimbo on the recruiting trail so whoever he wants, I'm cool with, therefore this news did not change my day. Then at 8:10 PM ET, I saw this tweet and freaked out as the wave of excitement grew:

Basically, Trent Forrest pulled a trump card on Levonta's tweet and got the team here at Renegade Sports super excited. IF you are new to the blog- first off why? You are missing out on some incredible writing. Second, I have specifically written about the Noles 2016 basketball recruiting class and the enormous impact it could have on Leonard Hamilton's program. With three of the six players I profiled already committed that leaves Brandon Robinson, Dewan Huell and Udoka Azubuike as two of the apparent "silent" commits. (A "silent commit" is when a recruit tells the coaching staff he will be coming to their program, but for whatever reason the do not want to make it public.) Now which two are they?

Robinson and Huell are visiting the weekend of the Miami-FSU football game along with current commit Jonathan Isaac. In one of Isaac's first interviews after committing to the 'Noles he mentioned that he was working hard on getting Huell to join him in Tallahassee. So maybe Huell is already committed and he is just taking his other visits to make sure? I'd be lying if I told you I knew. As for Robinson, he has already taken an official visit to Louisville and has stated via his twitter page that he will not be committed until October. Very interesting due to the fact that he is visiting FSU in October! Robinson will be tough because he blew up at the end of the summer and was offered by Louisville and North Carolina. Some people are worried about Carolina, I'm not because they have way too many off the court issues that will likely impact postseason play and you can bet every coach is negatively recruiting UNC to Robinson. Out of the three possible combinations, I think this has the second best chance at being the two "silent" commits.

If I were to put money on it, I would bet that the two "silent" commits are Brandon Robinson and Udoka Azubuike. The reason behind my prediction is simple, they both played for the Georgia Stars this past summer along with current FSU commit Trent Forrest. The Georgia Stars could also be referred to as the FSU's minor league program as both Malik Beasley and Jarquez Smith played for the Stars during their AAU career. Hamilton and his staff clearly have a good connection with the program and that is why I am almost positive these are the two silent commits. They played with Trent Forrest, who committed in May, all summer and you know Forrest was working his tail off to get his two teammates to Tallahassee. Azubuike has not set up any official visits yet, but I would love to see him also visit for the Miami game. I believe it could go a long way in creating chemistry and getting all three of Robinson, Huell, and Azubuike on campus here at Florida State.

Florida State has been in desperate need of big men who play with a mean streak ever since Bernard James went to the NBA. Well, Dewan Huell and Udoka Azubuike would give the Noles two big men that have been renowned for their ability to always play with an "edge." Sadly, I believe this is the least likely of the three combinations of the "silent" commits, but I still believe there is a good chance both end up at FSU. Both are in New York this weekend for the prestigious Elite 24 and this is where my dream of them both committing either tonight or tomorrow begins. Tonight is the three point and slam dunk contest, and I believe Dewan Huell will participate in the slam dunk contest. Picture this: Huell and Azubuike step onto the court with their shooting shirts on and Huell calls Udoka to stand in front of the basket. Huell then proceeds to jump over Azubuike and slam it down with authority, and when he lands that is when the party really starts. Huell takes off his shooting shirt and Azubuike rips his off, like the grown man he is. and the cameras of ESPN catch the two wearing Florida State shirts while doing the chop. Damn. This seems like a long-shot, but many elite recruits have committed at the Elite 24. It would be awesome if this series of events happened, so tune in tonight at 7:00 PM ET on ESPNU and find out if Tallahassee will freak out - well at least I will freak out.

To close this post, I would like to address the rumors that have been swirling around. Johnathan and I are not the two "silent" commits for Florida State. Many have assumed that we are a package deal and that is true. Though we may attend Florida State, we are making the decision based on which is best for each of our skill sets. We would appreciate it if all of you recruiting junkies would stop blowing up our twitter pages. Neither of us have set up any official visits or a decision day, but we would appreciate your support and also to respect our privacy. This is the biggest decision of each of our lives and we will take as much time as we want to figure it out.

Seriously though, to the "silent" commits, whoever you are Nole Nation cannot wait to support you in the future.

(You might wonder why we label our times timezone specific. Welp, we're a big deal people.)
