James is the face of this highly anticipated freshman class, a class that dominated the spring game. Along with George Campbell, Josh Sweat, Jacques Patrick and several others, this recruiting class seems full of talent that is ready to step in right away and contribute.
Derwin alone has likely had the most buzz surrounding him with a lot of social media talk and videos of his freakish abilities. Most recently, James posted this video of him benching 405 lbs (almost twice his body weight) which raised quite a few eyebrows:
This is far from the only example of James' abilities. Let's look at some more social media clips starting with his Instagram account (@derwinjames) where he posted a video of him working out with the catching machine - laying down:
How about this video he tweeted of him dunking in the on-campus student health Leach Center:

Early last month, FSU's strength and conditioning coach posted this video of James easily hopping over an FSU staff member on the practice fields. I'm not sure how tall the guy is but he certainly looks taller than James in the video:

Oh, and he also had a pick-six in the first minute of this past year's spring game - not too shabby for someone who had only been on campus for a few months....And he played a little basketball at Haines City High as well:
The early enrolled freshman showed out in the spring game and has a lot of fans excited to see what he can do next to junior All-American Jalen Ramsey this season. I am also guilty of the excitement. James certainly looks like a second coming of Sean Taylor, it should be fun having him in Garnet and Gold. 44 more days.
