Oregon State @ Michigan (12:00, ABC) ***
Jim Harbaugh and his khakis will make their Ann Arbor debut and I am really hopeful that the students start a trend of wearing khakis to the game. Look for Michigan to win by at least a touchdown as Oregon State struggled with Weber State. There is still a great chance for an upset as Michigan still has a ways to go to become a power once again.
Who to root for and why: Michigan because khakis.
Houston @ Louisville (12:00, ESPN3)***
Not a marquee match up but if you are looking for entertaining game to get you to the big time match ups look no further than this one. Louisville and freshman quarterback, Lamar Jackson, will be showing out with his arm and legs. As for Houston they had over 600 yards last week against Tennessee Tech. Look for this game to be a shootout and get you through the noon games.
Who to root for and why: Louisville because of the ACC and Florida State is hoping to play a one loss Louisville team on October 17th.
Hawaii @ #1 Ohio State (3:30, Big Ten Network) *
I urge America to watch this game because Ohio State can score on any play with the likes of Ezekiel
Elliot, Braxton Miller, and Cardale Jones. Also Joey Bosa will be back and that's a baaaddddd man. As for Hawaii - well at least you go to school in Hawaii.
Who to root for and why: Hawaii, just for fun as this would be one of the greatest upsets ever.
#19 Oklahoma @ #23 Tennessee (6:00, ESPN) ****
The winner of this game will announce themselves on the national stage and could become a real playoff contender. Neyland Stadium will be rocking and I think they will get a great quarterback battle between Joshua Dobbs and Baker Mayfield. If Tennessee wins look for them to jump in the top 10 because, you know, SEC.
Who to root for and why: Tennessee, Bob Stoops just annoys many people and Oklahoma is a boring state - and often an overrated team.
Kentucky @ South Carolina (7:30, SEC Network) **
The winner of this game will probably end up in the top 25 next week because they play in the almighty SEC. Anyways both teams are mediocre, but they always seem to play each other close.
Who to root for and why: Kentucky so that we can see Steve Spurrier throw his visor a bunch, also Mark Stoops.
#7 Oregon @ #5 Michigan State (8:00, ABC) *****
The game of the week will have major implications in the College Football Playoff. Can Michigan State get revenge from last year's loss and stop Oregon's potent offense? This game will be intense and close throughout so make sure to have your dinner, beer, and couch ready for this one.
Who to root for and why: Michigan State because Oregon has too many uniforms.
#14 LSU @ #25 Mississippi State (9:15, ESPN) ****
Two SEC teams square off in a game that may launch either in to the top 10, because, you know, SEC. LSU needs answers at quarterback and if they can get them, this team is a legit top 10 team. Can Leonard Fournette and his bald head lead the Tigers past Dak Prescott and his cowbells?
Who to root for and why: LSU - Mississippi State is not very good and neither is Dak Prescott.
#20 Boise State @ BYU (10:15, ESPN2) ***
In the game of the year so far, BYU beat Nebraska without their leader, Taysom Hill, who is out for the rest of the season. The Cougars will need Tanner Magnum to lead them past the Broncos, who survived a mediocre Washington team last week.
Who to root for and why: BYU, this could be a special season for the Cougars if they can rally around each other in honor of their injured leader.
***** - degree of interest
Go Noles as always!
