Watch Guide: Week 5

Sean has been lucky through two weeks of picking games, taking a 3 game lead in the race for root beer. As it stands:

Sean: 10-6         JK: 7-9

This week is packed with eye-opening matchups for you to view from your armchair-quarterback position including 5 games between undefeated teams. Let's take a look at what week 5 has to offer us:

If this picture brings back memories, here's a video to help relive them. You're welcome.

#23 West Virginia (3-0) at #15 Oklahoma (3-0) 12:00 FOXS1
The Mountaineers lead the country in turnover margin and scoring defense but that will likely change as they start a four game series against ranked teams (OU, OKSt, Baylor, TCU), three of which are on the road. Sooner quarterback Baker Mayfield is as hot as anyone in the country right now but was quoted earlier this week saying that WVU's secondary is "probably the best we'll see for awhile". Only time will tell if that is true, they've only played one power conference team this year (Maryland). Keep in mind that Oklahoma is 58-8 in their last 66 home games and they are coming off a bye week.
Who to root for and why: Oklahoma, upsets are fun but I think it would be fun to see Oklahoma make a run for the playoffs. Maybe that's just me.
JK: Oklahoma Sean: West Virginia

#1 Ohio State (4-0) at Indiana (4-0) 3:30 ABC/ESPN2
This is so intriguing. The Buckeyes are the most talked about team in the nation right now, therefore, you should already know three things: They've almost lost multiple times, their schedule is a joke, and their quarterback situation is sticky. This opens the door for an Indiana team that hasn't lost a game yet. They have won by only an average of 6.25 points over some crappy teams but I'm saying there's a chance. This game is at Indiana and Ohio State seems to have the same disease the 2014 'Noles did - one foot out the door to the NFL. This is a game to keep your eyes on.
W2R4&Y: Indiana all the way. Hoosier daddy?
JK: Ohio State Sean: Ohio State

Texas Tech (3-1) at #5 Baylor (3-0) 3:30 ABC/ESPN2
The over/under for this game has hovered around 90 points all week, peaking at 90.5. Texas Tech is a 17-point underdog right now to the Bears who have dominated a very week schedule. Texas Tech's only loss has come in dramatic/ridiculously lucky fashion to TCU. The Red Raiders' secondary gave up 17 catches, 250 yards and 3 TD to a single receiver in the first half last week and Baylor is 6th in the nation in passing yards, 1st in rushing yards and points per game. Texas Tech ain't too shabby either, they're fourth in passing. This game should be a back and fourth thriller, certainly worth your attention.
W2R4&Y: Texas Tech, UPSET.
JK: Texas Tech Sean: Baylor

#13 Alabama (3-1) at #8 Georgia (4-0) 3:30 CBS
This game is about Nick Chubb against the Alabama defense. Chubb is 5th in the nation in rushing and the Tide are 6th in the nation vs the run. Georgia quarterback Greyson Lambert is 4th in completion percentage (20+ attempts) and this is the first game since the 2009 SEC Championship game (72 games) that Alabama has not been the favorite to win. They're only favored by one point between the hedges. A win tomorrow would put Georgia closer to getting over the hump of always just being "good".
W2R4&Y: Georgia, it would be great to see Alabama, who's been the best program in football since that 2009 championship game, to come back down to earth with their second loss in three games.
JK: Georgia Sean: Alabama

#3 Ole Miss (4-0) at #25 Florida (4-0) 7:00 ESPN
Florida escaped last week by a 13-point fourth quarter comeback and a matter of inches on a missed kick. What they've done this season has been relatively impressive but they have still not beaten anyone that Muschamp couldn't beat - they haven't gotten to play Georgia Southern though. Ole Miss is high on everyone's list as an early playoff favorite after beating Bama and avoiding a let down game, but the season is early and the Gators are hungry. Quarterback Will Grier will likely have a very tough night against Ole Miss' land-shark defense which is tied for 3rd in the nation since the start of last season with 42 takeaways since the start of 2014 (I stole this stat from ESPN).

#21 Mississippi State (4-0) at  #14 Texas A&M (4-0) 7:30 SEC Network
In a battle of two teams with identically-lame jerseys, two under-the-radar SEC teams will do battle. Bulldog quarterback Dak Prescott has thrown 191 passes without an interception, both teams are averaging over 440 yards per game, and Texas A&M, though they've beaten 8 ranked teams under Sumlin, are 0-5 vs ranked opponents under his reign. The Aggie duo of QB Kyle Allen and WR Christian Kirk has proven to be lethal this season, hooking up for 442 yards and 4 touchdowns through their first four games.
JK: Texas A&M Sean: Same

#6 Notre Dame (4-0) at #12 Clemson (3-0) 8:00 ABC
This is the ACC's biggest game of the year so far. Clemson was not impressive in their only game vs a power 5 conference team, slipping by Louisville 20-17. Their defense has been impressive but not as impressive as Notre Dames' defense, who is ranked 12th in the nation despite playing Georgia Tech. Irish running back CJ Prosise has been electric as a replacement and is the nation's the fourth leading rusher. Clemson has a lot of hype surrounding its team this season with a stout defense and preseason player of the year Deshaun Watson. They have been given a bye week to prepare for this matchup, but keep in mind that "Clemsoning" is a thing for a reason and their head coach's name is still Dabo.
W2R4&Y: As an FSU fan, you should root for Clemson as they are on our schedule and actually in our conference, therefore helping our strength of schedule.
JK: Notre Dame Sean: Clemson

Arizona (3-1) at #18 Stanford (3-1) 10:30 Pac-12 Network
The Wildcats really broke my heart last week, getting embarrassed on national television by UCLA. This week they'll face a Stanford team that all-the-sudden has a chance to be a contender. Arizona will be without two of their best players in LB Scooby Wright (nation's leading tackler last year) and QB Anu Solomon. Arizona's defense is also not very good, but if they can find as spark on offense to replace Solomon, this game could be a good one.
JK: Stanford Sean: Stanford

This has the makings to be the best week of football so far in the 2015 season. We will learn a lot about the Big 12 and SEC races Saturday along with at least 5 undefeated teams falling. FSU should have total control of the game by the second half vs Wake, allowing you to share some of that focus on all of the other marquee matchups college football has for us this weekend.
